General Information

Brief Description

  • Jana Sevaka initiative was launched by Government of Karnataka to provide Doorstep Delivery of Government Services to citizens. The program currently offers 58 G2C services spanning 8 departments.
  • This programme is implemented by the Directorate of Electronic Delivery of Citizen Services (EDCS), Government of Karnataka.
  • Citizens can book a slot either by calling the Call Center (080–49203888) or by using web-based application (www.janasevaka.karnataka.gov.in) or through mobile app (KarnatakaOne). Janasevaka, equipped with all the required hardware, visits the citizen premises in the specified time to raise an application. Janasevaka is integrated with SAKALA (guarantee of services to citizens within the stipulated time limit) to ensure timely disposal of the applications. Once approved, Janasevaka visits the citizen premises to deliver the service/documents.
  • Janasevaka journey started on March 2, 2019 in T.Dasarahalli assembly constituency with 5 services. It was extended to three more Legislative Assembly Constituencies - Rajajinagar, Mahadevapura and Bommanahalli by Hon’ble CM of Karnataka on February 4, 2020. 48 more services were added to this program in this phase. 5 more key services along with a new assembly constituency (Yeswanthpur) were added in January 2021 to take total count to 58 services in 5 assembly constituencies. More than 95,000 applications have already been raised through Janasevaka in these 5 constituencies till date.
  • The program was put on hold during the first wave of Covid-19 pandemic. The project resumed on 18 January 2021 with changed strategy adopting all Covid-19 safety protocols. Janasevakas catered to the needs of citizens very effectively during the second wave and continue to do the same.
